  1. Pick your absolute must have tile!

So typically when designing someone’s bathroom everyone has a dream tile they want to include in their design. Sometimes it is a feature tile or perhaps a wood effect or it might be as simple as knowing you want to start with something simple like a metro tile. No matter what take that dream tile and use it as a starting point for the other tiles and fixtures you choose.

  1. Try to keep it to no more than 3 different tiles.

Taking your first (must have) tile and using it as a starting point. If your must have is a really different eye catching tile it is going to be the focal point of your design, try and use more stubble colours to accent and set of your feature tile. If your first choice is something really plain (a metro tile) you may want to add an element of interest with a colourful feature tile or mosaic.

Normally you will choose a floor tile and a wall tile depending on the size of your room, we can advise you of this when you make your choice. Somethings to think about, what size is the room? does it lend its self to a feature tile? does the room get allot of light? Do you want a gloss tile or a mat tile?

  1. Stick to one fancy feature tile!

There are so many amazing tiles out there and the bathroom is a perfect design space to show your style and personality so its ok to take a gamble with an awesome colour or pattern on your tiles.

However, if you are going to use a feature try and keep it to just one. This will make the bathroom look allot more timeless and keep you from being locked into a theme.
